Halloween 5K with the Family

Day 325.
Invited my parents (from PA) to sleep over so we all (husband and the two girls) could wake up early and take the ferry to Governor’s Island (a little island in NYC) to do a costumed 5k fun run. And my mom, who did her first race in maybe over 40 years (?!?!), won her age group!! And seemed to have a blast doing it, while my14 yo (passing on the costume) joined her as “support crew.” Saw some great costumes as well, so I ran around to a few strangers asking to take their photos, especially those in s quid game costume (of course) and the Dunder Mifflin run for rabies crew.

Just another “I wouldn’t be doing this if I were drinking” moment, stacking new memories and small wins.
